A Green Beret’s Journey with Multiple Sclerosis
My name is Ben Hofmeister and I have a somewhat aggressive form of Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis. I don’t normally mention MS when I introduce myself because, while it has profound effects on my daily life and is part of what makes me……me, my identity is not tied to it. I also don’t normally bring up that I served in the military for 22 years, as both a Ranger and in Special Forces. Don’t misunderstand, I’m very proud. I just don’t introduce myself that way unless it’s relevant. However, since I started this blog to bring light to the perspectives of the small niche that these things put me in, they seem relevant to this introduction.
So, about me? How do I define myself? I’m a husband of 12 years and a father of 3 little boys. I go to baseball practices and games, grade school events, read the occasional bedtime story, and sometimes even watch non animated things with my wife, or go out to places that don’t have a children’s menu and crayons.
I guess I’m a blogger now too, but only time will tell.
